Use of pesticides, insecticides, fungicides etc on agricultural fields ultimately effect water bodies. Nuclear power plants build for generation of electricity emit harmful radiations.
These radiations cause skin diseases, cancer etc. Our major industries emit toxic chemicals directly into atmosphere. These chemicals mixed with air and cause respiratory diseases like asthama. Besides, industries also run off their used water into canals and rivers.
This water contains harmful agents that affect the species living in these waters and humans who use it for consumption. Conditions are even worse in developing countries like India.
People usually throw garbage openly on streets and heaps of garbage can be seen everywhere. These heaps of garbage cause serious diseases. Deforestation for timber and land cause serious damage to plants and trees. Trees are reservoir of carbon and protect our environment.
All these anti environmental steps are causing massive damage to ozone layer. Ozone layer protects our environment from harmful radiations of sun but extensive use of CFCs and other toxic chemical destroy it.
Now, it fails to stop UV radiations from reaching our earth. These radiation causes number of diseases in humans. The need of hour is to understand the importance of environment and we need to take solid steps for its protection. Otherwise, our planet would no more capable of supporting life.
We need to work together with government to cope with this serious issue. It is duty of every citizen to plant more and more trees for protection of our environment.
Government should strictly prohibit the cutting of trees. The use of plastic bags should also be banned. Every citizen should contribute in Clean and green earth moment.
