Greetings! Respected Principal, staff, and my dear friends.
The topic of my today’s speech is “Girl Education”. The first question that might come to our mind is what do we mean by girl education? Girl education does not mean only learning to read and write. It means a complete development of a woman physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
The second question that might come to our mind is why is girl education important for the progress of India? The answer to this question lies in the fact that educated mothers can bring an educated nation. And we all know that an educated nation is a progressive nation. It is said that if you educate a man, you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman, you educate a family.

Causes of Low Girls Education:
There are several reasons why the girl child is deprived of education in our country. Some of these reasons are-
1) Lack of awareness: There is a lack of awareness among people about the importance of girl education. This is one of the main reasons why the girl child is deprived of education.
2) Poverty: Poverty is another big reason why the girl child is not able to get an education. Poor families cannot afford to send their girls to school as they need to save money for other things like food and clothes.
3) Child marriage: Child marriage is another major reason why girls are not able to get an education. In many parts of our country, girls are married off at a very young age and they have to leave school to take care of their families.
4) Lack of facilities: Lack of facilities is also a big problem when it comes to girl education. There are not enough schools for girls in many parts of the country and the ones that are there do not have proper facilities.

Promoting Girl Education:
There are several ways in which we can promote girl education. Some of these are-
1) Creating awareness: The first and foremost thing to do is to create awareness about the importance of girl education among people. This can be done through campaigns, workshops, seminars, etc.
2) Providing financial assistance: Another way to promote girl education is by providing financial assistance to poor families. This will help them send their girls to school.
