In simple words, the child labor is the employment of children who are below the legal working age. In many countries children are made to do work that is hazardous to their health, physical and mental development.

There are many causes of child labor. Poverty is a major cause of child labor. Parents may send their children to work in order to earn money to help support their families. Another cause of child labor is the lack of education. Children who do not receive an education are more likely to end up working in factories or on farms. Many children are also forced to work due to human trafficking.

Rising unemployment, illiteracy and population explosion are forcing children for labour. The mass ignorance of people and failure of govts policies have been the leading cause of rise in child labor in third world countries. In many african war torn countries, children are smuggled and are sold into other countries. The world community has done a little in terms of stopping the surge of child labor across the world.

The impacts of child labor are devastating. Children who work often do not have enough time to attend school, and they often miss out on important lessons. This can lead to them dropping out of school and ending up working full-time as adults. Child labourers are also more likely to get sick or injured due to the hazardous working conditions.
