Rabindranath Tagore’s Contribution to the Society
As a writer, I am also deeply influenced by Rabindranath Tagore’s life as a person. This Bengali writer loved his country, India, and worked to make it better. He played a key role in the Indian freedom struggle by speaking out against the British. In his writing, he attempted to bring about a revolution.
He was a member of a rich family, but he had a warm heart for the poor. He worked for the upliftment of the poor. He was very kind and gentle. A better life requires people to attain an education, he believed. It was no secret that he led a luxurious life, but he decided to serve himself and his fellow countrymen. He underwent much hardship to achieve this aim.
A complete artist and musician, as well as a religious reformer, reformist and educator, Rabindranath Tagore is recognized for being one of the most prolific and influential writers of the 20th Century. He was a true patriot. A true patriot, he gave great love to his countrymen.
In spite of his disturbing personal life, he continued to write inspirational books and work for people around him. Some of his work was supported by poets and authors worldwide, including W.B. Yeats, who was hailed for his book. He also won the Nobel Prize for his book, Gitanjali.
