One of the great scientist ever lived in history , Albert Einstein. He was born on March 14th, 1879 in Ulm, Germany and died on April 18th, 1955 in Princeton, New Jersey. He is best known for his theory of relativity and specifically mass–energy equivalence, E = mc2.
His Early Life
Albert Einstein was not a good student in his early age, he even failed in the entrance examination to Zurich Polytechnic. He disliked the authoritarian attitude of school and professors. His parents were worried about him because he had little interest in studying. So they decided to send him to Aarau, Switzerland to complete his schooling. There he started developing an interest in science and mathematics.
His major Contributions
Einstein’s most famous formula, E = mc2, came from his 1905 paper on special relativity. In this work he also introduced the concepts of light quanta (later called photons) and mass–energy equivalence. He also made major contributions to the development of statistical mechanics, especially his analysis of Brownian motion, and to the understanding of heat transfer. In addition to his work on general relativity, Einstein also proposed a unified field theory. In 1935, he collaborated with physicist Nathan Rosen on a paper describing gravitational waves.

His Personal Life
Einstein married Mileva Maric in 1903 and they had two sons together, Hans Albert Einstein and Eduard Einstein. The couple later divorced in 1919. Einstein married his second wife, Elsa Löwenthal, in 1919. She was his first cousin on his mother’s side. They had no children together, but Elsa had two daughters from her previous marriage.
Einstein was a committed pacifist and internationalist. He was a member of the League of Nations’ Commission on Intellectual Cooperation and served as its president from 1927 to 1930. He also worked with the International Committee on Intellectual Cooperation, which later became UNESCO.
Einstein was a lifelong advocate for civil rights. In 1946, he was one of the founders of the NAACP’s American Crusade Against Racism. He also spoke out against anti-Semitism and xenophobia.
