Essay on a Cricket Match; A Memorable Cricket Match between India & Pakistan

I can never forget a memorable cricket match of Pakistan and India. It was won by India. But it was really a very tough match. I remember that day as if it were yesterday.

It seemed that whole India on that day was glued to the TV Screen. The cricket lovers assembled in hoards in every nook and corner of the country to witness the event. There were those who supported Pakistan and those who supported India. It was a matter of intense interest for all.

The unending stream of people in front of the TV screens began from early morning. The match started at 10 am. All arrangements had been made to provide smooth transmission of the match. The whole nation was anxiously waiting for the result of the match.

The toss was won by Pakistan and they decided to bat first. The openers, Saeed Anwar and Aamir Sohail, gave the team a solid start. They put up a partnership of more than 100 runs. However, after the dismissal of Aamir Sohail, the Pakistani team started to lose wickets at regular intervals.

At one stage, Pakistan was struggling at 160/6. But then Inzamam-ul-Haq and Abdul Razzaq staged a brilliant comeback. They added more than 100 runs for the seventh wicket and took Pakistan to a respectable total of 271/8.
